STIKOM Uyelindo Kupang Holds First International Seminar in 2023
Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Informatika Komputer (STIKOM) Uyelindo Kupang held an International Seminar and Conference on Informatics - Information System (INNERIE) with the theme “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ITS Effect on Business and Education Perspective.
The activity took place in the STIKOM Uyelindo Kupang Hall, Saturday (11/25) opened by the Chairman of STIKOM Uyelindo Kupang Marinus I. J. Lamabelawa, S.Kom., M.T., attended by all students from various study programs and lecturers.
The seminar which was conducted online and offline presented two speakers, namely Jefry Liebertus, S.ST, MA, MBA, Managing Director of Gunung Mas Group Kupang and Prof. Dr. David Asirvatham, Executive Dean Faculty of Innovation & Technology Taylor's University Malaysia.
This 1st international seminar raised topics in the field of Informatics and Computers (infocomm) in accordance with the study program at STIKOM Uyelindo Kupang.
“Today we are holding an international seminar, then later there will be a conference. Indeed, yesterday we wanted to hold the seminar and conference in one go, but because of our time constraints, and also from Timor Leste which is a partnership, the implementation was postponed, and this conference will be held in December or early 2024,” said Marinus Lamabelawa, to reporters on the sidelines of the seminar.
Marinus said, the implementation of this seminar took topics related to student final assignments and lecturer research in the field of Artificial Intelligence for the Conference. Then it is recorded in a book called the 1st Innerie Proceedings book.
“So the results of seminars and conferences will be booked including the speakers. We are targeting 15 to 30 presenters, so that in this book in the research of lecturers with students or students related to the topic, “added Marinus.
Furthermore, in the future, Marinus said, his party will collaborate with Mr. Jefry Liebertus and Prof. Dr. David Asirvatham, to send students who do internships and lecturers who want to continue their S3 in Malaysia.
In the seminar, several conclusions were also made, namely first, related to data privacy.
“If we have entered Artificial Intelligence, we really consent to privacy data. We know that a lot of our privacy data is taken. Because in the age of Artificial Intelligence, everything can be taken,” Marinus explained.
Second, about ethical consideration. Where students are asked when dealing with the internet world to maintain ethics.
“This means that when dealing with the internet world, we must maintain ethics, we must provide wisdom. Not with swear words, curses. And that affects when you enter the world of work. There is a digital track record. Because digital track records will not be erased. Now companies are already looking at digital track records,” he said.
Third, staff training. To enter Artificial Intelligence, you must need training.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the International Seminar Committee of STIKOM Uyelindo Kupang Semlinda Juszandri Bulan, M.Kom., added, participants of the 1st International Seminar And Conference on Informatics - Information System (INNERIE) in 2023, were STIKOM students from all study programs.
In addition, there are also participants from other campuses that have Informatics and Computer study programs, including students and lecturers from Timor Leste and Australia who follow virtually or YouTube.
He added that the Conference will be held in Timor Leste in January 2024.
