Abstract

The fisheries and marine sectors are one of the economic sectors that have a role in national economic development, particularly in providing protein food, earning foreign exchange and providing employment. During the economic crisis, the role of the fisheries sector is increasingly significant, especially in terms of generating foreign exchange. Currently, the fisheries potential in Kupang or East Nusa Tenggara is only being managed at around 180,000 tons per year. Capture fisheries potential is extraordinary, but it has not been optimally utilized. There are also other problems, namely the dense activity of the people who do not take the time or are lazy to buy fish at the sellers' stalls. In addition, every consumer who wants to buy fish from the stall usually uses public transportation services or private vehicles to buy fish from the seller's stalls. Based on this description, the researcher provides a solution by building an E-Commerce application for Marketing of Local Seafood in Kupang City with the aim of helping people market seafood. The method used for system development is the Waterfall method. The research result is in the form of an e-commerce website system for marketing local seafood in Kupang City which is able to make it easier for people to market seafood.
