Abstract

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L) is a vegetable commodity that has received much attention because it has the necessary economic value. Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L) is also a horticultural commodity that has high economic value. In the village of Tesbatan, Amarasi District, cayenne pepper plants are of high economic value for farmers which are used as an alternative in farming, in the cultivation process they often experience disturbances in the form of pests and diseases that can damage and die in overcoming pests and diseases, preventive steps are needed, where in 2015 the chili production was 626 kw, in 2016 the chili production had increased by 258.00 kw, while in 2017 the chili production had decreased by 57.0 kw. The problem that occurs is that the treatment method is wrong or does not comply with existing standart, it can cause cayenne pepper plants to be susceptible to pests and diseases and can result in maximum yields. To solve the problem, an expert system was created with the Bayes theorem method as a calculation method to help and make it easier to get the accuracy of the diagnostic results, this bayes probability is one way to overcome data uncertainty to help and simplify the process of detecting pests and diseases in chili plants to provide the most appropriate and appropriate solution. The purpose of this study was to assist and facilitate the process of detecting pests and diseases in cayenne pepper. From the results of system testing using confusion matrix on chili plants with the amount of data processed as many as 20 symptoms of 10 cayenne pepper diseases. Based on the results obtained from the confusion matrix evaluation on the system, it is obtained 85% accuracy, 100% sensitivity and 0% specificity. With the value of the system test results obtained, the authors conclude that the system is able to diagnose pests in cayenne pepper plants.
